The very first episode of Pravda World News Tonight aired Dec. 19, 2012 on Pravda Radio 93.5 in Accra, Ghana. This is Africa’s first independently produced world news program. Featuring an in-depth interview with Samia Nkrumah, daughter of Ghana’s independence leader, Kwame Nkrumah, the program also features Didier Awadi’s song “Amandla” which is dedicated to anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela. The 94-year-old is still recovering from surgery in South Africa.
