Women in Action Tanzania works to empower women and children in social issues and legal rights. The Arusha-based organization was founded in 1993 and started by providing palliative care to HIV/AIDS patients, then began a micro-finance loan bank for women entrepreneurs. Now they send paralegals into villages to help women pursue justice and fight corruption by having a team which tracks public money spent by elected officials.
Elizabeth Mosha is the founder and executive director of Women in Action Tanzania. I met and interviewed this remarkable Tanzanian woman at her office in Arusha.
