In North America, Buy Nothing Day occurs the day after the American Thanksgiving. Otherwise known as “Black Friday”, it marks the beginning of the Holiday season and is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. International Buy Nothing Day happens the following day, which is the last Saturday in November. ‘BND’ is a 24-hour consumer detox, where anyone can join and the motto is: “Participate by not Participating”.
