State of Emergency

A state of emergency has been imposed by Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan. The West is calling on the General/President to step down from his duties as commander-in-chief, but of course he’s hanging on as long as possible. If he does shed his uniform and make himself a civilian he would be a lot easier to defeat in a coup d’etat. The result of this would cause even more political instability, leading to either opposition leader Benazir Bhutto or Nawaz Sharif to re-assume authority in the volatile country.
