Inauguration Day

People around the world gathered in front of their television sets to watch Barack Obama take his oath as the 44th President of the United States. They cheered as he spoke of how America will lead the world in the 21st century, by not using force but with diplomacy. There was also a moment where he struck an emotional chord with the millions watching and thousands in attendance, when he said he would extend a hand to those with a clenched fist. Obviously this is a policy statement that will reverberate to distant corners of the globe, where tyrannical regimes and hostile governments prevail.

President Obama knows that he can’t change everything all at once and mentions it may takes years for him to accomplish his tasks. But one thing is for sure, he embodies the hope that people need to see so they can work together and make their country and world a better place.
