The day the music died

50 years ago yesterday, three rising star musicians died in a horrible plane crash. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson chartered a small plane to fly them to their next location (on the Winter Dance Party tour) because their bus’ heating system broke down. The events that followed the plane’s take-off are left up to legend and folklore that surrounds the crash and their undisputed legacy.
