jhr Rights Report #9: Iran’s atrocious human rights record

In this week’s jhr Rights Report, I focus on Iran, a country where human rights are neglected and basic freedoms aren’t respected. I have many Iranian friends and have been learning as much as I could lately, reading Robert Fisk’s book “The Great War for Civilization: The Conquest of the Middle East.”

Once this broadcast was podcast, I sent the link to Iranian-Canadian human rights activist and singer-songwriter, Nazanin Afshin-Jam, who commented: “Great work Adam piecing this together and exposing the human rights abuses under this repressive regime. Also thanks for sharing my song. Peace be with you, Nazanin.”

Adam Bemma is a journalist, humanitarian, and media consultant based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
